Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Cooperation of Afghanistan met with the delegation of Turkmenistan


On  July 30, 2017 Mrs. Adela Raz, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Cooperation met in her office with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The two sides discussed both bilateral and regional economic cooperation as well as the preparations for the Seventh Meeting of the Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA VII) scheduled to take place from 14-15 November 2017 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

Deputy Foreign Minister Raz, referring to the growing economic cooperation between the two countries at both bilateral and regional levels, expressed her gratitude to the government of Turkmenistan for hosting RECCA VII. She stated that the Ashgabat Meeting would be a great opportunity to take stock of the progress made since RECCA VI in Kabul through a comprehensive review of the priority projects in areas such as energy, transport networks, trade and transit facilitation, communications and business-to-business partnership as well as to discuss the challenges and investment needs with respect to the priority projects and the way forward.

During the meeting, Acting Director General Soroosh provided a brief overview of the ongoing preparations and planned activities in the run-up to RECCA VII. The sides stressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination in preparation for RECCA VII.
