On 25 November 2024, a reception in honour of the 33rd anniversary of the Independence Turkmenistan and presentation of the new edition of selected poems of Magtymguly Fragi translated into Chinese were held at the Marriott Hotel in Beijing.
The event was attended by around 400 guests, including the leadership and representatives of party and state agencies of the People’s Republic of China, diplomatic corps, scientific and educational institutions, as well as business circles and public organizations.
During the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China noted the importance of this year’s event, being held in the year announced in Turkmenistan as “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”. He informed the guests about the essence of the philosophy of the great poet and thinker of the East, the influence of his work on the development of independent and neutral Turkmenistan.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Liu Bin attended the event as a guest of honour on behalf of the Chinese side and also addressed the audience.
In his speech, Liu Bin congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the 33rd anniversary of Independence and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. He expressed confidence that neutral Turkmenistan will continue to progress further efficiently under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty.
Video films about Turkmenistan were shown on the large screen. The guests were offered traditional Turkmen dishes. Musicians of the College at the Central Conservatory of Music of China performed pieces by Turkmen, Chinese and European composers.
Then, the ceremony of presentation of the publication of the works of Magtymguly Fragi published in Chinese took place.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented valuable gifts and certificates of appreciation to the members of the Working Committee for the publication of the book of works of Magtymguly Fragi.
Secretary-General of the China Horse Industry Association - recipient of jubilee medal “On the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi” told the audience about the importance of translating selected poems of the great poet and thinker, as well as about the process of work on the publication of this edition.
In conclusion, all the guests of the festive event were presented gifts with the symbols of the year “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”, as well as sweets produced by the manufacturers of Turkmenistan.
