On June 9, 2023, a meeting took place between the Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Turkmenistan to UNESCO Mr.Maksat Chariev and the Director of the Institute for Information Technologies in Education of UNESCO, Mr. Tao Zhan.
During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including the importance of incorporating information technologies into educational curricula and the need for the development of comprehensive digital literacy programs.
Ambassador shared the country's initiatives and efforts in promoting digital education and expressed interest in UNESCO's expertise and support in further advancing these endeavors.
Director Tao Zhan commended Turkmenistan's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities through technology. He emphasized UNESCO's dedication to fostering global partnerships and offered technical assistance, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to facilitate the implementation of effective digital education strategies in Turkmenistan.
Concluding the meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in the field of information technologies in education.
